Aggressive Dog Eventually Accepts His Rescuer’s Love And Lets Him Touch Him

Aggressive Dog Eventually Accepts His Rescuer’s Love And Lets Him Touch Him

Mark Mason

It’s a shame that some dog owners still have the guts to mistreat a dog.

Meet Phoenix, the dog that found himself in the cruel hands of his owner, a man known to be violent towards his dog by the police. Neighbors protested to the police about the mistreatment of the dog, so the police went and seized the animal.

As is the case with Phoenix, abused dogs are typically wary of strangers and aggressive, as is the case with Phoenix. The Police were unable to handle the aggression, so they contacted Takis, who operates Takis Shelter in the highlands of Ierapetra, Crete, Greece.

When they arrived at the shelter, Phoenix was too terrified to leave the crate. Takis attempted to reach out to him with his gloved human hand, but Phoenix reacted aggressively because hands reminded him of the trauma he had endured. He had to attempt to safeguard himself from the threat. However, Takis was compassionate and gentle with the dog.

After a few more efforts, the dog conceded when he realized Takis was nice and caring towards him. The love-starved dog, recognizing Takis, lowered his head towards him and allowed him to pet him softly.

Takis restored Phoenix’s confidence in people. He even gave Takis a paw, which was unexpected. As the adage goes, love truly triumphs. Takis screamed “Bravo!” to the dog in response to the moment’s sweetness.

Although Phoenix’s new and friendlier surroundings taught him that hands are not synonymous with pain, it took him some time to adjust to the concept. His behavior eventually changed considerably, and he got along well with other animals at the shelter, such as cats.

Not only did Phoenix get along with cats, but also with people, disproving his prior owner’s claim that he had previously killed cats. He is such a friendly dog, returning as much affection as he receives.
