Russ is a lovable Pitbull whose photo went viral because it showed how he was so grateful for having his adoptive fur parent. The expression on his face showed that dogs have their own special way of expressing thanks to their owner.
Prior to being adopted, Russ was a stray. Kayla Filoon, a volunteer dog walker, saw him and knew he needed help.
Russ was just four years old at that time. He was thin and out of shape.
One day, Russ and Filoon went on a long walk and formed an instant bond with each other. Russ’ ability to obey commands was evidence that he had a previous owner.
The shelter where Russ was already congested. Because of this, Russ’ health was affected. He had a “kennel cough,” and it was possible he might be euthanized.
A humane individual would not allow this to occur, thankfully.
Filoon called her mother and told her that she needed to adopt the dog. At first, Filoon’s mother assumed she was joking, but the following day, she understood that her daughter was serious when they went to the shelter to take home the adorable dog.
There was no turning back for Filoon. She promptly completed the adoption paperwork in order to adopt Russ. Russ needed to relax in order to heal from his cough. Having his own home would help him do that.
One day, Russ leaned toward Filoon, and the fur mom quickly realized that this was his way of expressing gratitude. Even though there was little space for him, he did his best to sit as close as possible to his favorite person.
Filioon lived with six roommates, all of whom enjoy Russ’s presence. This sociable Pitbull had no issue socializing with other dogs and people.
Russ was just one of the numerous dogs waiting to be adopted at the animal shelter. And he could not thank Filoon enough for welcoming him into her family.
