No One Expected A Dog And A Duck To Get Along This Well

No One Expected A Dog And A Duck To Get Along This Well

Mark Mason

There are many unlikely friendships in the animal kingdom. After all, it’s a diverse world full of unexpected social connections.

In the following story, we’ll take a closer look at one such extraordinary partnership.

Pam, a woman from Orange County, owns numerous unusual animals. Two pets of hers, in particular, stand out the most, Barclay the dog and Rudy the duck. They developed a strong and unbreakable friendship.

Barclay was indifferent when Rudy initially showed up. However, the dog started showing interest when he saw what the duck ate. Since Barclay was a big glutton, he tried to eat what Rudy ate, leading them to bond over food.

Ever since Rudy moved in with Barclay, their bond slowly solidified. They have different ways of expressing affection, both adorable and odd. While the duck enjoys getting all cuddly, Barclay enjoys putting his nose on the duck’s tail.

Rudy can be aggressive if someone approaches him too closely. Pam even hangs a sign warning people to “Beware of Attack Duck.” Fortunately, the duck becomes calmer in the presence of Barclay, which shows how much they love each other.

Rudy does not get along well with the other dogs, which is unfortunate. Another dog named Izzy gave Rudy a hard time when he was a duckling. Funny enough, Rudy got his revenge when he grew bigger, but that’s a different story.

Pam believes that Rudy and Barclay are meant for one another. She likes to think that there is an element of destiny at play. After all, perhaps only a supernatural cause can explain why two very different animals are so drawn to each other.

Regardless of whether it was faith or simply a rare natural occurrence, Rudy and Barclay’s friendship is admirable. Their everyday interactions put a smile on Pam’s face. Anyone who would see these two animals wouldn’t be able to resist smiling too.
