When a puppy named Lucy ended up at the animal shelter, she felt completely terrified and confused. She had absolutely zero clue where she was or why was she even there to begin with. She cried and whimpered and refused to eat even a little.
Shelter life isn’t the easiest for any animal but Lucy surely had a strenuous time getting by. She cried not for a day or night. Instead, she wept for seven days straight.
Fortunately enough, Morgan, an experienced dog foster, came and learned about the puppy. She felt sorry for it and decided to do something about the situation. She would foster the puppy, she told herself. So she pulled it out and brought it home.
Once Lucy arrived in her foster home, she relaxed. She looked around and investigated every corner of each room. She was a little baffled but she wasn’t afraid. She was curious.
Morgan and her girlfriend Emily were so happy to have Lucy around. They washed her and gave her a warm and cozy bed. They were delighted to realize that she wasn’t apprehensive but they were pleasantly surprised that she no longer cried.
The shelter environment brought Lucy so much fear, anxiety, and panic. She was clueless as to what could happen to her so she cried relentlessly. But once she was certain she was safe, she calmed down and acted completely different.
Morgan and Emily agreed to only foster Lucy. But within two minutes of having her, they changed their minds. They conceded and let Lucy stay with them forever. They knew they had tons of work to do to get her acclimated to her new life and they were up for anything.
Lucy is now the happiest in her new home. She has two loving moms and a cat brother and there’s nothing more she needs. She is certain that no matter what happens, she’ll never be without a family again.
