This Dog Always Manages To Escape Her Kennel Because Of An Adorable Reason

Mark Mason

Sometimes pet dogs can get into ridiculous situations when playing with other dogs. There are a lot of silly shenanigans that dog owners fail to notice. That is why one dog owner decided to secretly videotape her dog, to see what it was up to when she wasn’t looking. After all, she has always wondered why her dog kept breaking out of the kennel.

One woman adopted a Maltese puppy named Sophie. She preferred to keep the puppy inside a kennel as a part of its training. However, the puppy somehow kept breaking out of the kennel when the woman was not looking. That is why the owner placed a hidden camera near the kennel.

It turns out there was another dog responsible for Sophie’s escape. A six-year-old German shepherd named Twitch knew how to unlock the kennel. He does that whenever he wants to play with the little puppy. The owner couldn’t help but laugh when she learned about this scenario.

It made sense that the German shepherd was responsible for breaking the puppy out. Twitch is a dog that doesn’t like being inactive, so they seek out stimulating activities. For them, playing with another dog provides great stimulus, aside from being a fun activity.

The dog owner felt at ease, so she didn’t have to correct Twitch’s habit. Even if Sophie were not in her kennel, the other dog would be there to watch over her. The crate training might be deemed unnecessary since there’s no risk of danger. It’s very unlikely that the puppy would wander off when she has a playmate around.

Crate training is necessary for puppies because it creates a safe space for them. Aside from that, it’s an excellent way to make them stay put. However, in Sophie and Twitch’s case, the owner opted away from such training. She is convinced that her two dogs are well-behaved enough as they are.
