One day, a team of pit bull rescuers received a call from a property manager. The man inspected a house and found out there were still animals left inside the property. A pit bull, a cat, and a turtle were abandoned inside the home and needed rescuing.
The property manager made the right decision by contacting the rescuers from an organization called New York Bully Crew. If anyone could save a pit bull from a dire situation, it’s them. The other animals were rescued without issue, but the dog left in the house was trickier to save, hence the need for professionals.
NYBC began the rescue operation by checking the window. When the dog saw them through the window, it immediately barked. The constant barking gave away the dog’s exact whereabouts, so the rescue team went inside.
When the rescuers arrived inside the house, they moved with caution. The first member to come while holding a plank as a shield just in case the dog lunged at him. Scared and stressed dogs can become aggressive, so they had to keep that in mind as they approached the pit bull.
After a few failed attempts, the rescuers managed to put a leash on the pit bull. Since the dog was confused and scared, it put up a lot of resistance. Guiding the dog out of the basement was another hard task, but the rescuers succeeded in doing that too.
Despite the strong resistance, the rescuers managed to move the dog towards the door. After moving to several areas of the house, the dog was still shy and hesitant. However, once it was out of the house, it became more submissive and cooperative.
The rescuers had a little trouble getting the dog in the back part of the car. They had to wait for him to calm down before being carried inside the vehicle. Once he was transported to an animal shelter, he was given a bath, and they named him Donatello.
