Good Samaritan Stephanie Brooks came across a homeless Pitbull during her visit to New Jersey. Being an avid supporter of Hope For Paws, a charitable animal rescue outfit in LA, she called to find out if they can come to help. The group founder, Eldad Hagar, and his colleague, Loreta Frankonyte, did not hesitate and drove right away to meet with Stephanie and rescue the dog.
Stephanie managed to secure the dog in a smaller area while she waited for Eldad and Loreta. When they arrived, she told them that the Pitbull had given birth. Sadly, one of the puppies passed away within minutes after it was born.
The dog hid under some bushes with her puppies, so Stephanie proactively enclosed them with makeshift fencing. This made Eldad and Loreta’s job easier. With no risk of the animal running away, the rescuers were able to successfully secure the Pitbull with a gentle snare.
Eldad and Loreta reassured the momma dog everything was okay, and gently pulled her out from under the bush. They slowly guided her to ensure she did not step on the puppies on her way out. After getting the mom out, that’s when they saw the puppies.
The rescuers counted six living puppies. They also sadly saw the one that already passed away. After securing the Pitbull mom in a crate, they placed the living babies in a carrier and took the departed one for cremation.
After thanking Stephanie for her help, Eldad and Loreta drove the furry family to CARES Veterinary Clinic. There, they made sure that the Pitbull mom, who they named Jade, was comfortable with her puppies. However, they noticed that Jade still looked worried about something, and they found out why when Stephanie called.
As it turned out, a kind-hearted but misguided neighbor took one of Jade’s puppies to try and raise on her own. After realizing it was a mistake, the woman agreed to return the puppy to its mother.
Jade reunited with all of her puppies, named Amber, Emerald, Topaz, Ruby, Amethyst, Diamond, and Turquoise. Now able to enjoy their newfound safety, Jade and her puppies look forward to finding their forever homes soon.
