The Rottweiler is an extremely popular breed. Their large size, playful nature, and velvety fur make them extremely beloved by humans. However, this popularity is exploited by dog breeders who make use of debatable breeding methods.
A Rottweiler puppy was likely abandoned by a dog breeder. One of the puppy’s eyes was horribly injured when it was discovered. The eye had even fallen out of the socket.
Without the rescuers’ intervention, the dog would have perished. The rescuers brought the puppy to their shelter and quickly phoned Amanda Giese, one of their partners. Panda Paws Rescue is founded and owned by Amanda Giese. She is also well known for her television program Amanda to the Rescue, which is aired on the TV channel Animal Planet.
When Amanda first saw the Rottweiler with its wounded eye, she was delighted by how lovely it looked. Amanda petted the puppy and named him Kobe Beef because all she could think of when she saw Kobe was a juicy cheeseburger. In spite of his injury, Kobe remained friendly.
Amanda wasted no time and took Kobe to the veterinarian immediately for evaluation. As expected, there was no chance that Kobe’s eye could be preserved. To avoid future difficulties, such as infection, the veterinarian was required to remove the eye.
After successfully removing Kobe’s diseased eye, Amanda took him home to care for him and to monitor him closely in case the wound became infected. Amanda was aware that Rottweilers do not fare well in shelters. Therefore, she decided to foster Kobe in order to provide him with ample space and playmates.
Amanda is also familiar with and respectful of the Rottweiler breed. She was aware of the type of family Kobe needed. After Kobe had fully recovered, Amanda took him to the local vet to get his stitches removed. After having his sutures removed, Kobe is now ready for his future home.
Amanda was successful in locating and interviewing a family in search of a Rottweiler. The entire family’s hearts melted as soon as Amanda introduced Kobe beef. They were all over Kobe, and Amanda knew that Kobe would soon be adopted by a loving family.
